3 idiots

I am wondering what's happening with Aamir Khan and Chetan Bhagat. Both are fighting very low for credits. I have no idea what's the issue is all about? I haven't watched the movie yet but my friends have and have also read the comments in Chetan's blog.

Most of them say that the film is 70 percent from the book and Chetan should be credited good. May be yes he should have be credited for his work and the storyline.

i also doubt this issue or controversy over credits may be scripted to promote the movie, may be one of Aamir Khans's marketing strategy. What makes me to think so? May be Aamir's recent visits to several places across the country by disguising himself claiming that he is doing so to promote the film.

I guess am right

YSR REDDY- An Unforgettable CM

I was shocked to hear that YSR went missing and was even more shocked when reports of the chopper crash and YSR is no more. He is truly an inspiring leader who brought congress back to power after 10 years and was the only CM of Andhra Pradesh from congress to run a full term office.

Yes it is an achievement, because you often see congressmen running to 10,janpath holding slogans and complaining against the CM. YSR has crushed all his opponents in his party and outside party. He was a natural leader who was destined to serve for his state.

No one will forget his service and 1500km padyatra which made him a cm in 2004. Certainly his comeback was only possible of his good work from 2004 to 2009. He was the one and only CM from congress who implemented and worked seriously on the vision of UPA chairperson and Congress president Mrs Sonia Gandhi.

His funeral was attended by politicians from all parties ,Chandrababu Naidu, his rival in the state himself mentioned that He and Mr Reddy were only political rivals but personally they were good friends.

Mr Reddy has been in good touch with all the political parties and its leaders. His death is a huge loss to congress and especially for the poor in Andhra Pradesh. He was the only hope for the poor, as he was commited to serve the poor through Aam Aadmi programmes.

Its hard for congress to find and replace another leader even close to Reddy's traits and dynamism. Congress may get back to the old history of groupism and group fights within the party like the one in 80's.

It is a great worry for the congress president Sonia, she has lost a great leader in the south who made the congress to continue the second term in office in Andhra Pradesh and also a leader who sent 33 MP's from Andhra Pradesh which made the no of congress seats to go up in the centre.

Tough times are ahead for the state of Andhra Pradesh, especially for the congress party.

Is prabhakaran Dead?

I am very much confused about the death of LTTE chief Velupillai Prabhakaran. The videos over the internet and on television channels doesn't seem to be real. It seems like a wax prabhakaran. He was the hope of Tamil Eelam. But he is not the only hope. I guess Prabhakaran could have managed his struggle better instead of demanding Tamil Eelam.

He should have continued the peace talks initiated by Norway but instead he neglected it. He wanted a Tamil Eelam and he believed the Tamils in Sri Lanka would be happy only if they had a country of their own. Certainly yes to some extent. But what I wont agree with the LTTE chief is his idea of becoming a dictator of Tamil Eelam instead of setting a democratic government.

Prabhakaran shoudnt have expelled the muslims from the northern region and pushed them towards the south. He should have obeyed the peace treaties, etc etc etc.. He was isolated by the world community for his indulgence in the terrorist activities which killed several people including Tamils along with sinhalese.

Prabhakaran became a much more popular and notorious figure to some than the Tamil Eelam itself. I guess that would have let the LTTE chief to lose a crucial war which he fought for nearly three deacades.

No doubt that he was the hope for the Tamils and sinhalese feared Prabhakaran. He was a revolutinary leader, who later became an infamous terrorist to some nations which failed to recognise Tamil Eelam.

But I cant believe that Prabhakaran is dead. This is not the first time that Sinhalese government has come up with matters and news of prabhakaran's death. But everytime when there was a war after a peace treaty between the Sinhalese army and the LTTE, the news that prabhakaran is dead is common.

What makes the difference this time is the video of prabhakaran with his head blown off. But some Tamil magazines and media do claim that the LTTE supremo is still alive and will definetly address the people of Tamil Eelam.

The dream of having a Tamil Eelam is not over. It depends how Rajapakse treat the Tamils here after. I do not support Tamil Eelam but my heart goes to millions of fellow Tamil Sri Lankans for the lives lost and the wounds that cannot be healed even by the time.

I hope Rajapakse and the Sinhalese people will respect the Tamils and give them the equal rights to live. If not, Sri Lanka would definetly will or has to face another Prabhakaran. I guess that would be the worst thing that Sri Lanka will never dream to think about. The rise of another Prabhakaran will be much stronger and mightier than the actual Prabhakaran itself.

get anythyn u want in chennai @ nyt ,,

If your feeling down or loss of sleep and rolling from one side to another in your bed.I guess your wasting your time. If you manage to get out  at night in chennai, may be you wont feel the same. You have no idea where to go.Here are some, this is what I used to do if am not sleeping or getting sleep during my nights in chennai.

Coffee shop..yah you have many that are cheap and reasonable....you get coffee's the same you wish for in mocha or cafe coffee day. All you have to do is to get yourself Inn Chennai,, thats a hotel name dude which has a coffee shop that runs 24*7 xcept tuesdays.. Its in mount road. Cross the courtyard marriot hotel and go pass the left and stop, look left there you find Inn chennai 24 * 7 coffee shop. you can smoke inside too,no problem.

But where to get cigarettes? If your smoking kings, I guess you wont find yourself struggling to get it. But non kings smokers will find trouble in locating the shops of their brands during night time in chennai. All you got to do is drive to pondy bazaar, police station R4. Ofcourse you will not find fags in the police station, but 50 metres away from the police station thats exactly next to saravana bhavan hotel, you can locate your shop where you can find cigarettes of international brands, from dunhill to davidoff, from rothamans to camel, from marlboro to insignia and yes the most popular classic milds in India. You can get cigars,  stationary items, magazines, soaps, perfumes. It is a small grocery shop. you can get almost everything you want.

Hmmm what about booze ? for that you need to drive to egmore, yes egmore railway station, just opposite to the station you will find Lalitha thats a  shop name folks, you can get booze ,fags, stationery items and also the shop is 24 *7 pharmacy. Doesnt that sound cool?

For fags you can also get that in kilpauk, thats on halls road. Then in Ascendas on those roadside shops.  If your hungry and if you want hogg badly at reasonable price, then drive to western park in egmore  thats there near alsa mall opposite to ambassadar pallava. If you want it cheaper then drive to Ashok Nagar police station and ask for Hotel Brownstar, the food is great and reasonable too. Try out sambar rice and lemon rice with potato chips.

So you can almost get everything in chennai at night time, all you have to do is to just manage to sneak or get out of your house. With friends if your out during night,I guess you will remember the fun out at that night. All the best.

TAMILS in SRI LANKA

Tamilians in Sri Lanka are the most ill treated people in the world after kashmiris. Tamilians have no basic right to exist in sri lanka. Tamil women are raped by the sinhalese army. India was the only hope for the Tamils in Sri Lanka to get a country of their own. But the hope went missing after the assasination of the then Indian Prime minister Indira Gandhi.

LTTE tooks its own course of action, after loosing faith in Rajiv Gandhi. The Tamil tigers went to an extent to kill Rajiv in sri perumbathur. That was a mistake. A sin commited by the Tamil tigers ,which will take a long time to heal. They could have given Rajiv a little more time,he might have solved the crisis. But LTTE made its worst decision. An organisation which was supported by the Tamils in Tamil Nadu has lost its majority of sympathizers.  A ban on LTTE was forced. Certainly most of the Tamils will not appreciate the ban to be lifted on LTTE.  Tamils in Tamil Nadu will not like to be embarassed once again with LTTE's agrresive and irrationalistic nature.

Tamils in Sri lanka and India share the literature and culture. But Tamils in Tamil Nadu wont be justifying the assassination of their prime minister Rajiv Gandhi. A leader who was young and dynamic. A leader whom Indians trusted to progress  under him.

LTTE has to look for its own course of action. It is hard for them to repair their damaged past. Whatever the situation in Lanka, India will take a long time to consider before taking any decisions evenif  it has to face the pressure from the south. LTTE has hurt India in the past. So do INDIA has hurt LTTE. But winning LTTE is not an easy job for the Lankan Army.  They are equally strong as the lankans. They have planes and warships of own. They just need an external support either from India or anyone else to keep their struggle going.

LTTE have realised and openly apologised for assasinating Rajiv. That doesnt console India. They would have thought more than twice before killing Rajiv. They would have atleast let Rajiv live for what his mother Indira Gandhi has done for the Tamils in Lanka during her term as an Indian Prime Minister. Lack of gratitude. It is not worth trusting LTTE. Thats what India thinks.

Sri Lankan army has made it habitual to kill Tamils. Whether in Lanka or in Tamil Nadu. It has been a practise for the Lankan army to kill the tamil fishermen. It is hard for them to find and kill a tamil in Lanka. So they shoot their anger bullets against the Tamils in India. What a shame to the Indian Navy. India is least concerned about the tamil fishermen who are killed by the lankan army atleast for two decades.

If India feels that saving Tamils in Lanka from the lankan army is an External Affair. What about Saving Tamils in India from the lankan Army? It is high time for the Indian Government to urge its focus towards Tamils in both the countries before the Tamils feel that they are not part of this great nation. That feeling and thought of a tamil in India will be dreadful for the national unity. A tamil should not be made conscious about his second identity as a tamil in India rather than his first Identity as an Indian. If the Indian government makes an immediate delay in this issue. Certainly the fear of second identity dominating the hearts of tamil will be naturally provoked and cause a serious threat to our national unity.

It is the duty of mighty India to save Tamils of both the countries from the Lankan army.

night checks in chennai are inconvenient

Chennai city police is putting the night commuters in the city at utmost trouble. Police checkposts are there almost every signal in the main roads. One has to get through nearly 4 checkposts in the mount road at night times especially on saturdays. Usually the cops stop only the two wheelers and verify the vehicle papers and license of the person. But now they are stopping even cars. Chennaites can appreciate the police work at night. They are trying to keep the city as safe as possible. But the police should not create inconvenience for those who commute at late night after their night shifts by having four to seven checkposts in the same stretch.

Sometimes you need to wait for really 10 to 15 minutes to get your papers verified. And it is very hard for people who are travelling home in their two wheelers after their night shifts,if they have to stop at each and every checkposts to get their papers verified. Sometimes the city policemen are partial.

I remember one incident when the cops seized nearly 5 to 7 vehicles for drunken driving and they let a man go who was drunk, because he was in PRESS. Most of the policewomen who are posted at night checkposts hardly know to verify the papers of the commuters. They just let them to go. One of my friend was let to go by a policewoman,he was not having his insurance papers and the policewoman was so ignorant about the paper verifications,

One thing can be appreciated. Cops are refusing to accept bribes. They have become very strict and they start writing chargesheet without any further questions if a person is found violating the traffic rules. So no bargaining business.

If the cops can make the night time checking more convenient for the people who have to travel at night time from one corner of the city to another,it would be the best .
